Emma B. Regatta 2023

Summary

Saturday, October 14:

The weather did not provide favorable racing conditions with a consistent wind of 20 kts and gusts of 32 kts. In addition, only one safety boat was available, making safety a real concern. We were optimistic that it could drop sometime during the day, however, it stayed consistently windy, rainy, and cold. Racing was called for the day at 12:13 PM with 0 races sailed. There are high expectations for tomorrow, with favorable wind conditions. We are planning to go past the 1 PM cutoff time per MCSA guidelines, only because all teams agreed to the change. We will attempt to sail as many races as possible tomorrow before our new 3 pm cut-off.

Sunday, October 15:

The weather was favorable blowing 13 kts with gusts of 20 out of the North and moving east throughout the day. Races began at 9:15 and six races for A and B fleet were completed by 2:00 pm. Wisconsin took home the gold, winning first overall. No accidents or special circumstances occurred.

Score history

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
