Jack Boehringer '52 Memorial

Summary

Saturday, September 8:

Jack Boehringer '52 was a sailor, pilot, inventor, and philanthropist. He was a great Cornellian and Cornell Sailing is honored to pay tribute to his legacy annually at this Memorial Regatta. The Boehringer & McConnell Families make this event possible, thank you!

Sailors arrived to a light northerly filling in and we launched just after the competitor meeting with the first race going off as scheduled at 0945. We sailed 3 race sets and the first A set was sailed in a light 6-7kt breeze with more shifts than normal for the North direction. In race 5B things lightened up quite a bit and the RC moved to the west. The breeze then came in nicely and freshened up to a 12-15kt Northerly for the remainder of the day. In total 18 races were completed, 9 in each division. All races were W4's.

No protests, redress, or breakdowns filed.

Cornell leads the way headed into Sunday.

Sunday, September 9:

Sunday forecasted an easterly wind, typically not a good forecast for this area. We were in a wind delay until 12:30pm and A division launched. They sat on the water until about 1:30pm when we were finally able to set a course and run a W3. B Division launched and again the breeze was all over the place. We set again in the east direction and ran another W3 to complete race 10B. It wasn't the greatest sailing today, but we did what we could to get some racing off. Thanks to the Cornell Sailors helping on RC for moving the marks today. No protests, redress, or breakdowns filed.

Congratulations to the Cornell Big Red for winning the 4th Annual Boehringer Memorial Regatta!

Score history

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
