Jack Boehringer '52 Memorial

Summary

Saturday, September 10:

2nd Annual Jack Boehringer '52 Memorial Regatta. Racing began promptly at 9:45am with a light southerly around 8mph. Breeze was shifty all day with long persistent edge shifts from both sides. Breeze continued to build as the day went on with some gusts over 20mph. It was a beautiful day on the lake, sunny and warm. 8A and 8B races were completed. 1 redress was filed and disallowed, 1 protest was heard and disallowed.

Thank you Colin Keil '15 for serving as PRO!

Sunday, September 11:

Sunday got underway at 9:45am as scheduled. Breeze was out of the WNW ranging from 8-12mph. During race 9B the breeze picked up significantly gusting to about 25kts. With 1 breakdown due to a vang shackle and a couple capsized boats we decided to take a postponement onshore to re-group. Sailors went back out at 12:30 for race 10B in a NW breeze 15-20mph. In total 4 races were held in each division for a total of 12A and 12B races. It was a tight battle all day between GW, Hobart, and Cornell. Hobart and Cornell had protests filed against each other in races 11A and 12A, resulting in DSQ's for both teams. Thank you to the Navy and GW coaches for hearing the protests.

When it was all said and done, GW came away with the Boehringer trophy!

Thank you to Colin Keil '15 for once again serving as the PRO.

Score history

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
