Admiral Moore Team Race

Summary

Saturday, March 21:

After a fifteen minute delay, breeze quickly filled in from the northwest enough to sail in the strong early morning tidal current flowing from the Whitestone bridge and the current had slacked off enough to make racing fun.

The day saw a mostly northwesterly direction across the peninsula with the occasional big lefty coming down the course and breeze varied from 8-12 with the occasional larger puff and occasional lull making for exciting team racing as the teams worked to stay on top of the breeze and each other! Midday the current went fully slack and then swapped to flow from the Throggs Neck Bridge. We attempted a fourth round robin but the breeze died out at 4pm.

We completed all 3 round robins in one day with the help of our outstanding race committee and umpires. Thank you to Chief Ump Tony Wiener and the team of Paul Gilman, Bruce Cook, Teresa Laughlin, Cormac Murphy, Bob Wieczorek, and Geoff Barbour. Thank you to the shore team for helping with rotations, keeping the boats ready, scoring and food. Many thanks to our ICSA Rep Ali Blumenthal from CGA.

Congratulations to CGA on winning the 2026 Admiral Moore after a three-way tiebreak with NYM (2nd) and Fordham (3rd). It was great racing and we look forward to having you all back next year!

Sunday, March 22:

No racing Sunday. Regatta completed on Saturday.
