Shifty winds greeted the 10 team competing at the Mendelblatt Team Race event hosted by the University of South Florida. One full round-robin (45 races) were completed, with College of Charleston leading at the end of the day, dominating the field.
The forecast was for much lighter winds, so it was decided to sail a Final 6 round to determine the 4 teams that would advance to the Bob Bavier team race in Charleston next weekend. After a postponement, the wind finally filled and the final 6 round was sailed. Congratulations to College of Charleston, Miami, USF, and Florida State (winning the tie-breaker over NC State) for advancing to the Bob next weekend, with the other teams scheduled to race at Citadel.
