2023 Truxtun Umsted

Summary

Saturday, April 15:

Day one of the 2023 Truxtun Umsted regatta saw a SE breeze with 6-8 knots all day. Storms moved in around 1500 forcing the regatta to return to shore. Unfortunately the storms and lightning continued to build and encircle the Annapolis area. We waited for a small window in between cells to derig the fleet and pack it up for the day. One protest was filed that resulted in a DSQ. A big thanks to Vakaros for supplying Atlas 2s for each boat in the event. A replay of each race can be seen below.

Sunday, April 16:

Day two of the regatta started with a shore postponement while the sailors and RC waited for a light south easterly to fill. Eventually racing got started around 1100 in a 5 knot breeze with adverse current. Conditions stayed light all day. No protests were filed. Congratulations to Tulane for winning the 2023 Truxtun Umsted Regatta and another big thank you to Vakaros for coming out and introducing new technology into the sport of College Sailing. Score history

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
