NWICSA Championships

Summary

Saturday, April 30:

Sailors arrived to Eugene Yacht Club nice and early Saturday morning to a light breeze coming from the west/southwest. After a competitor's meeting the teams started heading out, sending their varsity fleets out on the water for the first two races of the day. With a little bit of lighter wind, Race Committee ran a W-2, and then followed it up with a W-4 as the wind began to build. This was a 2-boat combined division regatta, with rotations to the teams' JV fleets, but those scores are registered separately. After 2 rotations for Varsity, sailors took a break for lunch and the day ended with JV finishing up 2 races, as the wind grew and clocked, making it difficult to sail a proper course.

Sunday, May 1:

For Sunday, the wind was projected to be lesser than Saturday's, and it lived up to its expectations. The postponement put in effect did not lift, and races were unable to start. Peak wind was supposed to pick up by 3 PM, was only to reach around 3-4 knots, and as that was the proposed end time for Sunday, races were called early on in the day. Though there was no sailing done on Sunday of Champs, the sailors enjoyed a beautiful, sunny day out at Eugene Yacht Club, and scores from Saturday remain the overall scores for the weekend.

Score history

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
