NWICSA Championships JV

Summary

Saturday, April 30:

Sailors made their way out to Eugene Yacht Club on the Fern Ridge Reservoir nice and early Saturday morning, and luckily there was a nice west/southwest breeze that allowed the sailors to begin their races on time. JV, being scored separately of Varsity, sailed in the second rotations following the Varsity fleet. These races were also being scored in a combined 2-division format, so both A and B fleets were racing on the water during the same time. One and a half rotations went underway before Race Committee paused for lunch, and started up with the JV fleet right after. The breeze built nicely throughout the day, but ended after the JV fleet's second round of races due to some resignations and capsizes. Breeze built up to 10 knots and created quite some wake, alongside clocking consistently through the final races, making it difficult to hold proper courses.

Sunday, May 1:

Unfortunately, the wind did not build enough during the postponement on Sunday to constitute any races, so the scoring from Saturday remains to be the finishes of the schools' overall. Peak knots were not meant to fill in until roughly 3 PM, which was the proposed end time for races on Sunday. Though no races could be sailed, sailors enjoyed a beautiful, sunny day out at Eugene Yacht Club.

Score history

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
