Central Series Four

Summary

Sunday, April 17:

Breezy, shifty, chilly but a great day of racing on Upper Mystic Lake. Winds were WNW 8-20 for the most part. A very brief shower with one or two ice pellets mixed in blew through around 11:30. Other showers threatened but mostly stayed north of the lake. After six races per division the last B boat hit the dock right at 3:00.

All courses were four legs of about 18 minutes each About a dozen boats capsized but none needed rescuing not even any help righting as nearly all of them finished every race.

Salve Regina benefitted from two recent team racing regattas at Mystic Lake and both teams broke into one-two in the standings. MIT came on and nearly won both divisions but their B boat was over early at the pin and did not hear their number hailed. The resulting OCS gave Salve one-two overall and gave B division to the Tufts 1 boat.

Many thanks to Matt Wallace for scoring and the competing Tufts sailors for setting up all the boats then helping putting everything away. There were no protests and only one breakdown for a parted Mainsheet.

Score history

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
