President's Trophy

Summary

Saturday, April 12:

Excellent day of racing on the Charles river. Due to a crew regatta college sailors got to sleep in but the first start was at 11:29am. Wind was 0-12 knots shifting from W/NW to a "river steady" westerly after the first set. 11 women's teams enjoyed beautiful weather, square courses and friendly competition. 8A races and 6B were completed with all W4s except the efficient W5 ending the day. One protest was heard and disallowed. Many thanks to RC extraordinaire Matt Johnson (MJ).

Sunday, April 13:

Sunday morning greeted sailors with a revised forecast bringing cold overcast skies with bands of rain. The wind wasn't too cooperative to start, but as the rain cleared it settled in from the East with the Cambridge shore holding a bit more pressure. The tactics were velocity driven with small oscillations for the Charles. Three A division and five B division races were sailed to complete the rotation. The win went to the URI team of Rachel Bryer '17, Fiona Christie '17, Chanel Miller '14 and Nellie Hamilton '16 taking second place in both divisions. Thank you to BU Alumni Matthew Johnson '12, Ryan Pesch '12, Matthew Conover '07 and Bobby Martin '08 for helping make the event happen!

Score history

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
