MCSA Womens Singlehanded Champs

Summary

Saturday, October 17:

Today started out light with a residual 6ft chop resulting in an AP on the water. Once the Southerly turning easterly kicked in, we got 3 races off in very unstable, shifty conditions in 8-12 kts of breeze. The first start of the day for the ILCA 7s was a general and there was one OCS per subsequent start. No protests were filed.

Sunday, October 18:

Sailors were greeted with a strong classic chicago southwesterly averaging 15-18 kts with puffs up to 22. We got 3 solid races off today. multiple competitors suffered breakdowns, including a broken radial bottom section which required rescues by our mark set volunteers.

Thank you to the CCYC ILCA Fleet volunteers and Northwestern students Shane and Jamie for their assistance this weekend! Congrats to Chris Draper '29 from Purdue University and Caroline Henry '27 from Hope College for qualifying for nationals.
