Chesapeake Open

Summary

Saturday, September 19:

Saturday of the Chesapeake Open/Invite began with a light NE breeze. The RC was able to start 2 Invite races and 1 Open race before the wind became unsailable in the racing area off of Triton Light. We held on shore until we saw around 5 kts from the East. The second Open race was completed in that breeze before we lost wind for the remainder of the day. The fleets headed in at 4:15PM hoping for better breeze and more racing tomorrow. Thank you to our Midshipmen for excellent RC work in challenging conditions! See you tomorrow morning at 9:30!

Sunday, September 20:

Sunday started out with a moderate southerly and the fleet sailed trapezoid courses. We set a course in the mouth of the Severn River and were able to get 5 races off before the wind shifted southeast and the conditions began to deteriorate. Racing was then called off early.

Score history

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
