PCCSC Match Race Conference Championship

Summary

Saturday, October 15:

The 2022 Dick Sweet Match Race began in shifting conditions sailing Ideal 18's with three sailors on each team. The day initially progressed slowly until the sea breeze came in and allowed for a quick completion of the second round robin. Hawaii and Stanford were tied after the double round robin only losing a single race to each other, so a sail off was offered and completed in the twilight hours on Saturday allowing teams to go home a day early.

A huge debt of gratitude goes to PRO Hunter Williams (UCSB '06) and Dana Jones (UCSB '03) as well as umpires Rob Overton, Don Wieneke, and Bryan McDonald. Thank you very much to Stanford coach, Augie Dale who was extremely helpful in making the event happen. Finally thank you to Peninsula Youth Sailing Foundation for allowing use of their Ideal 18's. Thank you to everyone who pitched in to make the event happen and congratulations to Stanford on qualifying for Match Race Nationals in San Diego on November 12-13, 2022.

Sunday, October 16:

All races were completed on Saturday.
