Outlaw Regatta

Saturday, October 22:

The first day of Outlaw brought varying conditions that tested sailors on their light air and heavy air sailing. In the sunny breaks between the dark clouds and rain, competitors saw wind from 4 to 18 knots shifting from the South to the West throughout the day. These conditions threw tricky shifts at the racers while they completed 12 windward/leeward courses. Even with a few capsizes and some soggy conditions, spirits were high and there was good competition on the water.

Sunday, October 23:

The Sunday of Outlaw brought much more sun, but much less wind. With a max of 6 knots and occasional glassy water, racers had to use their light wind sailing skills to complete an additional 8 races. The wind shifted from the Southwest to the Southeast throughout the day and slowly died, leading to and early end to Outlaw 2022. Thanks to the race committee (Rich Johnson, Glen Hughes and their crew) who ran 20 races this weekend while completing the many course adjustments as the wind shifted. More thanks to the Eugene Yacht Club for letting us use their facilities and to all the teams that showed up to race (and for putting up with the low water and copious amounts of lake algae).

Score history

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
