McGill Cup

Summary

Saturday, October 1:

Saturday began under AP, with sailors and volunteers alike hoping for a light breeze forecast to fill from the southwest. By 1230, the breeze looked just promising enough to attempt to race, only to die by the time all the boats had made it to the course. After a brief postponement, A Division were able to sail a single race before the breeze shut off again. The stiff current of Lac Saint-Louis ran right to left across the course, and fortune favored those who properly anticipated its effect.

Sunday, October 2:

Today was a breezier day, with wind blowing from the ENE at about 12-15 knots sustained, and gusty in the morning, though conditions calmed as the day went on. Nine races were sailed today (4 in A, 5 in B), and the fleet was much closer together by the end of the day, when all boats had figured out the current.

Score history

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
