Salt Pond Invite

Summary

Saturday, September 22:

Exceptionally variable and shifty day, between 3 and 14 knots with wind directions between 0* and 45*. Course options were somewhat penned in by shellfishing grounds, depth, and other considerations but racing was quality.

A Division sailed a shortened second set when the breeze looked like it was in terminal decline, and threatened to leave us with 6 completed A races and only 3 completed B races, with a marginal forecast for Sunday. Of course the breeze then held on well enough to get a good complete B Division set in before falling to light and random.

The Sunday forecast has improved somewhat so we will start with A in the morning and hope to get a full day of racing in.

Sunday, September 23:

Light to lighter breeze from the North-Northeast. Started with Races 6A and 7A in diminishing breeze, then decided to run race 7B before the breeze shut down completely. Complete glass-off after race 7B.

Score history

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
