Jen Harris Women's Showcase Championship

Summary

Saturday, October 12:

The forecast has never been more wrong in a favorable way. Instead of sitting around all day waiting for wind to materialize, a miraculous 8-12 SE breeze filled the Severn River at 1000 and stuck around all day until finally fading at 1630. It was enough for eight races in each division. One protest was filed which resulted in a DSQ. Tomorrow's forecast doesn't look great, but after today, who knows what will happen!

Sunday, October 13:

After yesterday's completely incorrect forecast, the conditions on day two of the Jen Harris Women's Showcase Finals were exactly as predicted. Two races per division were completed in a 5 knot Easterly before the breeze got much lighter and much shiftier. Several attempts were made at starting races over the next hour and a half, but all were called off before the boats left the starting line. Sailors were sent to shore for a lunch break and shore postponement. At 1430, the wind had still not filled and racing was called off for the day. No protests or redress were filed. Congratulations to the Brown University Bears for winning the 2019 Jen Harris Women's Showcase Finals!

Score history

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
