Sherman Hoyt Trophy

Summary

Saturday, October 20:

Southeast breeze to start the day shifting right to West/SW for most of the racing at 8-15 knots. The seabreeze filled in for the last two A-division races out of the South/SW. All courses were W3's and W4's. No breakdowns and one protest resulting in a DSQ for Charleston A-division. Very close racing with Roger Williams holding the lead for much of the day.

Sunday, October 21:

A shifty and puffy westerly at 6-12 knots with a few higher puffs. All W3 and W4 courses. One protest resulting in a DSQ for Harvard B-division. Breakdown points awarded in 11B to Tufts and 12B to Brown. Thanks to judges Ted Greene and John Moultrop and to Drew Shea, Jessie O'Dell, Lizzie Sturr, Tim Harding, and Nathan Allman from Brown for helping run things.

Congratulations to M.I.T. on a great win!

Score history

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
