A bruising day for all concerned at the Drexel Open Sunday. Early morning showers had cleared the area before the teams arrived but left breezy conditions behind. Winds initially North 12-15 kts veered quickly NW forcing a shift of the course axis, but the real culprit was an occasional West wind that tried to dominate the prevailing direction. Every time that filled in it was a 45 degreed shift and briefly 20 knots plus, leading to serval capsized boats in both divisions. This game continued of cat and mouse between the two directions continued into the afternoon. Around 2:30 the wind kicked it up to 18-20 knots and we shifted the courses to Triangles to make things a little more bearable. As one sailor commented Triangle are fun, so sometimes it pays to change it up. Between course changes and wayward boats, it was slow going, While A division got two full rotations in, B only got to their third race before the 3pm cutoff. Hopefully next year we can make this a two-day event and not have to work quite so hard to get the races in! Congratulations to Rutger's who won the battle of Boeing Bay, with Princeton and Stevens behind them. One request for redress-breakdown was made, but the boat had capsized and retired prior to making the request.

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.
The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
