Jeremy A. Pinkerton Memorial Regatta

We started off the regatta with light winds. We were able to get through 2 A races and 1 B race before it became necessary to abandon race 2B and head in for wind delay. We were then able to get back out with medium winds later in the day, so B division went out and sailed 3 races. Unfortunately, our hopes to complete a final 2 races for A division were not fulfilled when conditions deteriorated once more, so A division finished on 3A for the day.

We began Sunday very similarly to how we ended Saturday: we faced light winds and spent a brief period of time on wind delay prior to launching. However, conditions quickly resurged and eventually built to considerably heavy winds by the end of the day (contributing to several unfortunate capsizes). These conditions allowed us to send out A division to finish their set from Saturday and also complete 1 additional set, at which point we ended for the day. Congrats to the top three teams: Virginia Tech, Virginia, and Drexel! Thank you everyone for sailing with us this weekend!
