2025 Southern Collegiate Offshore Regatta (J/22)

Summary

Saturday, February 8:

The day began with light breeze from 3-5 knots out of the east, resulting in an AP flag until noon, when a 10-15 knot southerly filled in. The race committee were able to get four races completed in shifty breeze. At the end of the day, the Ohio State Buckeyes managed the breeze well and led the regatta, followed closely by the College of Charleston and University of Rochester. Thanks to race committee who managed to reset the course and get four races finished in each of the three fleets.

Sunday, February 9:

Sunday in the Charleston harbor brought a steady 10-17 knot northwesterly that allowed for competitive close racing through the day. Race committee was able to get off 3 races including a long distance race before the last start time of 2 pm. The Ohio State Buckeyes maintained their rhythm from Saturday, and took the win for the event. The Charleston Cougars followed them closely, finishing 3 points behind in second, with the University of Central Florida Knights concluding the podium. Congratulations to Ohio State on their overall win throughout the four fleets, and to all competitors in the J22 fleet for some very close racing. Thank you to Carolina Yacht Club, the College of Charleston, Citadel, and all the volunteers and race committee who helped facilitate a great weekend of racing.

Score history

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
