Day 2 of the Southern 5 Regatta. With scores resetting from yesterday’s event, teams continued their Salt Pond battle with a clean slate. Racing commenced around 1030 in a strong but consistent NNE breeze at 14 kts with an ebbing tide.
Race 1 went to the Rams with a comfortable one-two scoreline, followed by Camels 1 to round out the top three. After a small left shift course change, the breeze settled and the next few races saw a close battle between URI, Conn, and MMA for top spots as teams navigated the shifts off Pine Tree Point. By race 6 the cold began to set in for everyone, so RC elected to conclude with a W3 which went to Camels 1. No protests were filed on either day.
Well done to all competitors, and thanks to the RC support team and coaches for ensuring a smooth event.
