Jen Harris Women's Team Race

Due to construction at the Naval Academy, the 2024 Jen Harris Team race was held out of the Annapolis Sailing School off Bembe Beach. Day 1 started out with a nice 10-15 knot easterly breeze and racing began on time. As the day progressed, it became very rainy and the wind remained easterly, but ranged between 4 and 15 knots. We were able to complete a full round robin. A huge thanks to our umpire team of Brady Stagg, Lydia McPherson, Caroline Bayless, Jed Bell, Nora Ong, Abby Tindall and Robert Vann.

Sunday was dry and Sunday, but the forecast called for high winds throughout the afternoon. Conditions were sailable at first and racing began for gold and silver rounds on time in 15-28 knots. After a few flights, gusts over 30 started rolling through the course and racing was abandoned for the day and the results from the round robin stand as final. A huge thanks again to our umpires and race committee for assisting with many capsizes. BC, Brown and Cornell were tied for third. While Brown beat BC in the incomplete gold round, neither team raced Cornell, so the race couldn't be used as a tiebreak and the 3 way tie stands. Congratulations to the Yale Bulldogs for the win.
