Saturday was filled with excitement for the steady breeze of 15 knots and the warm sunshine that filled across Geist Reservoir. With favorable winds, competitors had to navigate a shifty race course as the wind came in from the West, coming through land and around the island. Six races were completed for both fleets across three rotations which left IU and OSU fighting closely for first overall.
The race committee set out early with sailors following eagerly, with hopes of getting to sail in heavy wind conditions. The wind was a steady 15-18 knots with gusts of 22 knots. The wind stayed pretty steady across both fleets, resulting in one capsize on Sunday. We would like to thank all of our volunteers and everyone at Indianapolis Sailing Club for an amazing weekend!
