Central 4 UNH

Summary

Sunday, April 14:

Sailors were greeted by the typical shifty, oscillating breeze from the WSW coupled with blue, then grey skies, which made for a fun day. Breeze ranged from 7-20 mph, welcoming many sailors and their sails to the colder waters of Mendums as its gift and adding to some spicy starts. There were 90-degree left-hand shifts only to return to WSW, then random righties, morphing into more 45-degree left shifts. Congratulations to the Big Green 1 team for winning the Central 4 at UNH and the Brown Bears for nipping at their heels. Reece’s races were held in both A and B.

No protests were filed even though there was a significant pileup in one start with no exoneration. Harvard was a no-show. Please remember that teams need to wear pinnies while racing.

Thanks to the UNH shore crew and to Bentley coach Jared Reinke and Rob Dresser, Dartmouth coach, for doing yeoman’s duty on the water today. Last night, a twisted/broken ankle took our Mark boat driver out of commission for today, and they stood in to assist if necessary.

Score history

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
