J70 invite #2 began with a minor delay due to breakdown but races were quickly kicked off with sailors initially seeing puffy and shifty WSW breeze, with the wind swinging SW and strengthening through most of the day. Moderate ebb tides and shifty wind led to tricky starting conditions, with the Webb Clippers dominating the first part of the day with a 1-2-2-2. As the breeze strengthened, both the URI Rams and CGA Bears surged to the front of the pack with Webb, URI and CGA all in tight contention going into day 2.
Sunday's racing started off without a hitch, with the Thames providing puffy Westerly wind and strong ebb tides. Seven races were completed today with an intense battle between the CGA Bears and the URI Rams for first overall. The regatta came down to the final race, leading to a tie for first between Bears and Rams, with URI edging out CGA in the tie-breaker. Congratulations to each team that competed and thanks for racing!
