Salve Regina Fleet Race

Summary

Saturday, April 3:

What a great day of sailing on Narragansett bay! We're all looking forward to seeing the awesome photos taken by Robert Migliaccio. Thanks Rob! Thank you to Sail Newport for a Coach Boat and Photography boat. In the morning, breeze was pulsing from the north at 4 to 10 knts before dying abruptly and switching to the south at about 8 to 12knts. Thank you to the Salve team for rigging everyone's boats before they arrived so we could minimize time on the docks and get sailing quickly. Report time was 10am and the first race started at 1038. The first few starts were aggressive with two general recalls, but everyone settled in for the rest of the day with only one more GR and a handful of premature starters. Races 1 through 8 were W-4's with race 9 being a W-5. The "almost" winner of race 9 missed the finish line (between the windward and offset) allowing URI to get a 1, 2 vice a 2, 3. CONGRATULATIONS to URI for a dominating performance and clinching the victory at the Salve Regina University's Fleet Race.

Score history

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
