Men's Open Singlehanded National Championship

Summary

Saturday, May 1:

A great day with 41 boats hitting the line in a 15-20 knot northerly that slowly died and backed over the course of the day. Tom McCann of Georgetown showed outstanding upwind speed in the chop to lead after day 1. The fleet was treated to a mix of varying current and wind which made the course a challenge, breakdowns in the borrowed, chartered and private boats was kept to a minimum, all had a great day in what is believed to be the largest single division college regatta ever.

Sunday, May 2:

Tom McCann maintained his lead from Day 1, averaging 2nd place for the day to stretch to a 14 point lead over Charles Carraway from Hobart. Conditions were outstanding, 15-20 steady knots of Newport SW breeze, perfect chop for exciting off wind surfing and planing. Lots of smiles out there from sailors anxious to get back on the water after a year of paused sailing.

Score history

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
