SAISA South Points #3

Summary

Saturday, March 7:

Saturday started out with a beautiful 10-15 with gusts to 18 North, North/Easterly. The nearly full moon brought a strong upcourse ebb tide. Several general recalls meant lead to the I flag penalty being enforced the rest of the day. 8 Races were sailed in each division, one short of a full rotation. As the pressure died and became unstable downwind legs were a struggle. The unstable winds made markset very challenging, but Jack Gower, Nathan Ikeda and Courtney Purcell were on top of things and kept the marks as square as possible. Thanks to Alumni Shaynah True ‘19, Andrew Fay ‘18, Charlotte Rose and Buttons Padin ’70 for running the RC duties. Ben Mckissick and Madison Reynolds won A Division. Maartje van Dam and Sara Flowerday won B, and the JU women’s team won the regatta. The USF Bulls were second and Eckerd 3rd. No protests were filed an no penalties assessed.

Score history

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
