Racing got underway in a 15 knot Northwesterly breeze with 3’ chop.
After the two round robins were completed Tulane and Texas A&M Galveston were tied with 5-1 records.
Galveston capitalized on early mistakes from Tulane to grab the first two wins of the Best of 5 Sailoff.
Tulane narrowly snagged a victory in the 3rd race to push the Sailoff further.
In the final race Galveston was able to move into a strong Play 2 on the run. From there they were easily able to move around the 1 to secure the championship and earn their way to the Nation Championship.
Many thanks to the Tulane team for running a great event, our umpires who gave up their Saturday to be here, and to the Southern Yacht Club for their support.
