Charleston Spring Coed Interconference

Summary

Saturday, March 9:

We had a light southerly today and were able to get 8 races in each division off. Only Miami complained about the cold weather, it was 72 degrees and mostly sunny. Classic day on the bank here in Charleston. We had one no show but a composite group sailed the missing boat so we could do a direct swap rotation.

Sunday, March 10:

Today we had a beautiful 10-15 knots out of the SW. In the morning we went out to Crab Bank and sailed 4 races in champagne conditions. Longer courses allowed teams to stretch their legs and work on boatspeed. After coming in for lunch we went out in the river near the sailing center and sailed 4 more races in choppy conditions with strong current running against the breeze. This set up very difficult downwinds and some crowded leeward mark roundings. In the end JU prevailed and protected the lead they had held throughout the regatta despite a strong push from the Cougars Coed team throughout the day. Congratulations to the Fins on winning both divisions.

Score history

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
