Navy Spring

Summary

Saturday, April 14:

Saturday was a beautiful day in Annapolis with sunny skies and temperatures in the mid 70s. Racing began in Annapolis Harbor in a shifty southwesterly breeze. After one race, the wind shifted South and steadied out for the next few races, before going back southwest and getting really wacky. PRO Steve Podlich and his team did a great job re configuring the course all day to keep the racing fair and we completed 10 races per division. One breakdown was grated for a broken pintle and three protests were filed. One was disallowed and the other two will be heard in the morning.

Sunday, April 15:

Sunday was a very different day. It was rainy and cold with NE winds at 10-20 knots. The breeze and the rain steadily increased throughout the day. In the end, 18 races were complete. A huge thanks to all the coaches who helped hear protests and breakdown requests. Congratulations to the Old Dominion Monarchs for winning the 2018 Navy Spring Regatta.

Score history

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
