Georgetown Team Race

Summary

Saturday, March 3:

There was no racing on Saturday. The wind was blowing in the mid 20s and gusting over 40 and blow out tides caused most of the water to leave the Potomac.

Sunday, March 4:

The water returned to normal Sunday Morning and the sailors launched right at 915 for a long sail out to Hains Point.

One round robin was completed in 12-20mph winds with higher gusts. Many thanks to the GW undergrads for running the races and for our umpires - John Pearce, Brendan Shanahan, Sean Golden, AJ Reiter, John Andril, Albert Kraus, Curtis Crooke and Sam Oldroyd

Two tie break races were needed with NYM defeating ODU for 4th overall and Hobart beating Cornell to finish 1st overall

This was the first regatta of the MAISA Team Race League Series. Hobart by virtue of winning has 6 series points, Cornell 5, Navy 4, NYM 3, ODU 2 and UPenn 0.
