Port of Los Angeles Harbor Cup

Summary

Friday, March 10:

After 3 practice starts, we were able to get off 3 races on Day 1. A productive start to the Port of LA Harbor Cup!

Saturday, March 11:

Saturday began with an on the water postponement due to limited visibility. As the day went on it cleared and fogged back in multiple times. However, it was clear enough to get off and finish 3 races.

Sunday, March 12:

After our first two days of good sailing and favorable weather, Sunday was a very disappointing day for the race committee. At first, sailors were postponed on shore until the fog cleared. As the fog cleared off the shore, on-shore postponement was lifted and racers were instructed to head to the racing area. As we left the harbor, racers were consumed with a severe lack of wind & heavy fog. For most of the day there was only 200-300 feet of visibility even as the afternoon breeze filled in. At 2:30 the regatta was abandoned for the day without having gotten off even 1 start. The Cal Maritime Keel Haulers were deemed the winners of the Port of LA Harbor Cup for their 6th time in the last 10 years of hosting this regatta! Congratulations to the Keel Haulers and thank you for all the teams that came out for our event. A special thank you to Team Ireland for traveling all the way to California to participate in our first Port of LA INTERNATIONAL Harbor Cup.

Score history

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
