Mustang Open

Summary

Saturday, March 4:

Saturday morning in Morro Bay greeted 13 teams and 29 boats with sunny skies, light to moderate winds, and a strong flooding current. The wind stayed consistent throughout the day and the race committee got off 6 races per division. Racers returned in high spirits to a spaghetti dinner prepared by the Morro Bay Yacht Club and the Cal Poly Sailing Team.

Sunday, March 5:

Teams were welcomed back on Sunday with a pancake breakfast. Many sailors prepared their foul weather gear as morning showers rolled through the bay. Fortunately, the rain clouds had dispersed by the time breakfast concluded. Strong winds and choppy water persisted, however, and put many teams to the test. 5 races were run per division before racing ended early at 3pm. Congratulations to Cal Maritime for winning the regatta and a huge thank you to Morro Bay Yacht Club for helping run races, feed sailors, and house a majority of the teams as well!

Score history

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
