Saturday began with an hour start delay to wait for wind to fill in. We began around 11 with light wind (5-7 knots), which built throughout the afternoon. Races ended at approximately 4:30pm; Northwestern held a narrow lead over Hope College (32-34). No protests were held.
We were pleased to see that the 20+ knot forecasts did not materialize in Indianapolis. Those conditions would have placed racing in jeopardy. Instead, we began with 10-13 knot wind which built throughout the morning. I estimate that winds were gusting to 15+ knots by the end of racing. In the final B division race, Northwestern fended off Hope College in an exciting race to narrowly claim the 1st place Hoosier Daddy trophy.
