St. Francis Interconference

Summary

Saturday, March 29:

Sailors were greeted by rain showers and 3-6 knots out of the southwest. Racing was becalmed after race 1B until the breeze filled from the west, building to 6-8 knots. Four races were completed in each division.

Sunday, March 30:

Racing began promptly at 10am in beautiful, spring-like weather. We saw a westerly of 6-10 knots, building to typical City Front conditions of 15+ knots by race 7B. There was a bit of carnage on the course with the increased wind. Race 9B started just three minutes shy of the 3pm time limit.

San Francisco Bay had its strongest tides of the year, with each day starting in a 4.2 knot flood and ending in a 4.6 knot ebb.

Special thanks to Regatta Chair Paul Manning, Principal Race Officers Harrison Turner and Brent Harrill, Protest Chair Don Wieneke, and all the Race Committee volunteers.

Congratulations to the Stanford Women for winning the regatta. Props to them for sailing an entire set without a tiller extension, using a foot to steer while hiking.

Score history

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
