Admiral's Cup

Summary

Saturday, April 19:

Great start to the Admiral's cup! We sailed trapezoid courses with Appendix C starts. Winds were from the north north west ranging from 3-15 knots. The regatta crew did a great job setting courses. We took a lunch break after 6 races but were only able to get in one more after.

There were six bkd and three protests. Two protests resulted in dsq and one was disallowed. All bkd were granted. Thank you to Charles, Ken, KC, and Andrew for helping hear those.

Thanks to the KP waterfront teams for helping run the event.

Sunday, April 20:

Started race 8A at roughly 0945. We sailed 7 races with out a lunch break and were able to get off the water around 1330. The wind was from the ENE, NNE ranging from 6-14 knots. Courses were again trapezoids. It may have seemed like we ended early, but according to the NOAA KP weather buoy the wind shut off at 1354-1454 and was only about 2 knots. Also, the 3pm cut off makes it hard to have a lunch break with 3 divisions. We finished with a total of 14 races total and each division sailed the same number of races in FJ's and 420's.

Thank you to Zach Runci for helping with two BKD's and one protest.

Thank you to the KP waterfront Midshipmen for helping run the event.

Congrats to SMC on winning the 2014 Admiral's Cup!

Score history

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
