George Morris Trophy

Summary

Saturday, April 27:

A great day of racing on the Charles River. 8 races in A division and 6 races in B division were completed. After a short delay from crew races, the first few races were sailed in shifty 4-6 knots easterly. After that we had a steady easterly with 7-10 knots for the majority of racing. The day ended with A division sailing 2 races against a more notorious shifty Charles River south-east breeze. 2 protests were disallowed. Thanks to coaches for hearing those protests.

Thanks to various BU undergrads for assisting the race committee. Stay tuned on Sunday for more Charles River sailboat racing action.

Sunday, April 28:

Sailors had 2 beautiful days of sailing for the George Morris Trophy. After the crew shells dispersed on Sunday, it was time for the real racing to begin. 7 B and 5 A races were sailed in sporty, flat water FJ conditions. The regatta turned into a Comm Ave rumble with BC & BU trading blows over the last 2 sets. Congrats to the Boston University Terriers for winning the 2013 George Morris Trophy.

Score history

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
