Eighteen teams, representing 10 different schools, arrived for the SAISA South Fall Tournament. The fleet launched in a light southeasterly, 4-5 knots, but it quickly dropped just below the 4 knot threshold. Storms in the area were threatening and lightning was reported within 8 miles, so the fleet was towed in. Racing was delayed onshore until 12:15 when the fleet launched again.
Race 1A was started in a 5-6 knot westerly and a 19 minute W4 course was sailed, but the wind died again. Racing needed to resume by 2:15 in order to complete the rotation for a regatta, but there was still no wind so the regatta was called.
Thank you to competitors for their patience, and to USF team members for hosting.
