The SAISA North Fall Tournament began with an ebbing tide and light wind, but a southerly began to build allowing racing to begin on time following a brief skipper's meeting. Banks Channel was busy with boat traffic and chop, but the RC was able to set a course out of the main to host racing. As the first rotation completed wind had stablized around 8-12 mph. Early in the event, it was all Palmetto state as Clemson and USC battled for the front of the fleet led by the Gamecocks A-division who lead wire to wire in their fleet across the entire day. UGA also began to climb the ladder in A, while in B-divison NC State and Clemson traded barbs with UNC Chapel Hill also in the mix. By the third race of the first set, however the Wolfpack had secured control of B-division. Overall clocking conditions and changing tides kept sailors on their toes and the ones responsding promptly and to a busy race course kept scores low across the event. In the end, the RC was able to complete 7 races in both divisions, all W4s, with only one RAF, no protests filed, no breakdowns. Thanks to the UNCW Seahawks for once again putting on a great event, to CYC1853 and staff, thank you again for being a great host and venue, and thanks to all of the RC, the SAISA rep Elliott, and all those who pitched in to make the weekend work. Congrats to the USC Gamecocks on their first win at Wrightsville Beach in some time, and to UGA for their most recent podium appearance. Clemson wins the tiebreaker with the Wolfpack for 3rd to round out the medals, but overall great showing and parity from all the teams competing.

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.
The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
