Richard Ross College Bowl

Summary

Sunday, October 11:

The annual Richard B Ross College Bowl took place this weekend at Courageous Sailing. Eight teams representing five different schools competed in Rhodes 19 keelboats in six races on a quintessential New England fall day. The breeze started out very light but picked up as the day went on. Teams who managed to connect the puffs and avoid the wind shadows from the Boston skyline were ultimately rewarded. The light breeze meant you had to play the traveller upwind. No one did this better than Brown, who finished first in 5 out of 6 races. However, BU was right on their heels the whole time and managed to get a bullet in race 3. Thanks to everyone who sailed and to our spectators as well! Congratulations to Brown University for winning the Richard Ross College Bowl. Williams was a no show. We’ll see everyone next year.

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
