Chesapeake Invitational

Summary

Saturday, September 16:

Day one of the 2023 Faye Bennet MAISA Women’s Single Handed Championship and the Chesapeakes Invite and Open started out with a luxurious 10 knot north westerly. As the day wore on, the breeze shifted right and slowly decreased in strength. Six races were sailed in the ILCA 6s and FJs, and five were sailed in the 420s. One redress was awarded for a tiller breakdown. Thank you to Mike Callahan and ADMR Pete Fanta for hearing the redress.

Sunday, September 17:

Day two started with a beautiful 10 knot southeasterly and the whole regatta moved offsite to run races near Bembe Beach. Six races were completed for the Chesapeakes Invitational and Open, and eight races were completed for the ILCA 6s. No protests were filed. Congratulations to Cornell for winning the 2023 Faye Bennet and earning the AQ berth to Women’s Singlehanded Nationals, and to Georgetown for winning both dinghy events!

Score history

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
