Sister Esther Open

Summary

Saturday, October 8:

Today started out with a strong north/north-westerly breeze that allowed us to get 6 great races in right away. As B division tried to get their next few races off, the breeze unfortunately shut off, leaving sailors in postponement until about 4:15 when both fleets headed out for more racing. By the end of the day, 12 total races were sailed with A division sailing larks and B division sailing FJs. The boats all sailed in under a full moon and terrific sunset. Report time tomorrow is 9:30 and divisions should expect to switch fleets.

Sunday, October 9:

Racing started and ended today in a hefty westerly breeze! Partway through the day, the larks came in to switch out their flat top sails for smaller ones to complete their final set, after many sailors went for a swim. Each fleet sailed 12 great races total over the course of the two days. Thanks to everyone for coming out to our annual Sister Esther Open! Special thanks to Luke Ingalls for helping out on mark boat and Shannon Killian ‘16 for providing onshore support with scoring.

Score history

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
