Pen Bay Open

Summary

Saturday, September 10:

A morning northerly lazily backed around to SW as Smith Cove heated up in the afternoon, and the fleet of 18 420's completed 8 races. Winds briefly peaked at 6-7 knots in the late afternoon, allowing for some twice around courses to be sailed. Tufts sailed away from the fleet repeatedly to claim first place. Salve Regina ended the day firmly in second, and Vermont won a closely contested mid-fleet battle against Mass Maritime, two Maine Maritime teams, Northeastern, and URI. There was no wind on Sunday. Thank you to the MMA waterfront staff, and all of the volunteer support that made this event a success.

Sunday, September 11:

No wind on Sunday. Sailors played cornhole ashore until the regatta was called a 1200.

Score history

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
