Sailors arrived to Coast Guard for the NEISA Match Race Championship with a 5-7 kt northerly breeze. One flight and 2 races of the second flight were completed before the breeze died. A southerly promptly filled in allowing for the completion of the round robin. Tomorrow the quarterfinals will begin. A big thank you to Bill Canfield and a host of CGA sailors for running races today. The standings after the round robin: 1. Coast Guard 6-1 2. Tufts 5-2 3. Brown 5-2 4. Yale 4-3 5. Bowdoin 3-4 6. Boston College 3-4 7. URI 1-7 8. Maine Maritime 1-7
The quarterfinals are: Coast Guard vs Maine Maritime Tufts vs URI Brown vs Boston College Yale vs Bowdoin
The day began with the Quarter finals: CGA defeats MMA 2-0, Tufts defeats URI 2-0, Brown Defeats BC 2-1, Yale defeats Bowdoin 2-0. The Semi-finals had CGA vs Yale and Tufts vs Brown. Yale defeated CGA 2-0 and Brown defeated Tufts 2-1. In the Petit Finals, CGA beat Tufts 2-1. In the Finals, Brown defeated Yale 2-1. Brown is the NEISA Match Race Champion and has earned a berth to Match Race Nationals hosted by San Diego Yacht Club.
