Teams from SAISA and MAISA gathered in Raleigh for the 5th annual Triangle Tango Regatta and were greeted with excellent conditions. With plenty of sunshine and wind, Saturday was a perfect day for sailing at Lake Crabtree. With the race course set up within view of the waterfront and tower, there was great spectating and a consistent southerly at 10-12 mph nearly the whole day. The RC was able to get in three 3-race rotations in A division and 2 rotations in B on Saturday with more racing ahead Sunday. With a solid lead in A-Division, NC State wraps up day 1 in front with Clemson, Georgia Tech, Duke, and Catholic threatening.
Day two at Lake Crabtree was glassy until about 11:30 and the breeze started to fill in. By 12:30 B-division was on the start line and racing again with a consistent and building breeze from about 1pm onwards. RC was able to complete a third 3-race set for B-Division and then a single race in each division before last call. Congrats to hosts NC State on the win with a shout out to Lake Crabtree roommates Duke with low score in B-Division. The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.
The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
