PCCSC Women's Singlehanded Championship

Summary

Saturday, September 18:

Chamber of commerce conditions in sunny Santa Barbara on Saturday with conditions starting at 6-8 knots from 220 and shifting over to the sea breeze direction of 240 after race one and for the duration of the day at about 10-14 knots. The competitors and coaches agreed to end the regatta after ten races based on dismal wind forecasts on Sunday. Racing started at 11:45am but progressed quickly as the race committee rattled off ten races, wrapping up the final finish just after 4:30pm. In the men's division, the fleet was small but very competitive with the top four consistently finishing within boat lengths of each other throughout the day. In the women's fleet, Stanford's Grace Austin ran away with the event with a nice big picket fence at the end of the day. Thank you very much to mark set/umpire, and gaucho alum, Lucas Pierce. There were no hearing requests. Congrats to Stanford for securing the win in both divisions.

Sunday, September 19:

There was no racing on Sunday. Ten races completed on Saturday.

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
