The Nickerson Trophy

Summary

Saturday, October 30:

Day 1 of the Nickerson was met with light rain and cool temperatures, but our sailors remained enthusiastic about sailing the Larks. The wind initially came from the NE, but the wind died as it clocked to the SE. Three races were sailed in each division. Two redresses were filed, and one was allowed. Thanks to Wells Drayton for running the races, Patrick Mulcahy for managing the dock, Maddy Simms for scoring, and Annika Fedde, Sara Morrison, and Tufts freshman for helping make the launching and de-rigging run smoothly.

Sunday, October 31:

Day 2 of the Nickerson was much sunnier and warmer, with medium but shifty breeze from the SW. Five races were sailed in each division. Five protests were filed, and one was allowed. Congratulations to Yale for winning both divisions and the Nickerson Trophy! Thank you to Wells Drayton for running the races, Patrick Mulcahy for managing the dock and running the pin boat, Maddy Simms for scoring, and the Tufts freshman for helping launch and put away the boats. Thank you all for for a wonderful two days of racing at the Bacow Sailing Pavilion!

Score history

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
