Lark Invite

Summary

Saturday, October 2:

Fun, warm day of sailing on the Mystic with temperatures in the 70s and partial cloud cover. The course was set for a WSW wind, with shifts from 30° on each side, ranging from 4-10 knots. Big puffs came from the south early in the day and shifted west as the day progressed. We ran mostly W6s as the breeze came sideways to the lake. Two protests will be heard in the morning. 9:30 report time tomorrow as we pray for the sea breeze to venture inland!

Sunday, October 3:

Sailors arrived to a dying northerly and rushed out to take advantage. Race 7A was completed after one abandonment due to a massive right shift on the start that led to a parade race. We quickly switched divisions to attempt race 7B, but could not get a start off before the wind died. With only a slight chance of a light easterly late in the day, racing was abandoned at 11:30. Race 7A will be deleted. 2 protests were heard, resulting in one DSQ. Congrats to our top 3 of Harvard, MIT 1, and URI 1, and thanks to the jumbo undergrads for scoring and shore support.

Score history

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
